Why We Think Mountain Weddings Are Awesome!

Alysia and Charlotte’s love story evokes immense joy, passion and tears of happiness. Their wedding was so emotional, even I was crying behind my camera. As you watch the highlights video of their best day ever, you will see a love that inspires everyone around them.

Alysia and Charlotte’s friends and family were so happy to join them in the Cascade Mountains in the Wenatchee Valley, where they tied the knot at The Sleeping Lady Mountain Resort. This wedding was truly as beautiful as the majestic mountains, as glorious as the sunset ceremony on top of the hill and as heartwarming as the sound of nature echoed throughout the forest.

They started the day getting ready for a romantic first look. We found the most scenic spot in the woods for this connected couple to see each other for the first time. They hugged, kissed and twirled around as they admired each other’s dresses.

Looking effortlessly beautiful, we captured gorgeous couple footage before the ceremony. This is what first looks should be like. It was intimate, special, and helped the couple relax to be fully present for the vows and ring exchange.

The ceremony was literally on a mountain top with a rustic triangle-shaped altar decorated with flowers by florist Loves Me Flowers, who also created the bride’s stunning bouquets. You couldn’t dream up a prettier space for a wedding ceremony.

A friend conducted the ceremony, which was full of sentimental words and meaningful moments. She spoke about how they had built a new village with their love, meaning their friends and family who had become a strong group with Alysia and Charlotte at the center. She also infused some humor into the ceremony, which was just right for this light-hearted and joyful outdoor wedding. Pronouncing the newlyweds as “wifed up,” she sent them down the aisle, followed by their bridal party and children.

It was a workplace friendship that grew into a romance for Charlotte, a kindergarten teacher, and Alysia, a school counselor. They are wholehearted souls who are meant for each other. As the day went along, we saw how much they meant to each other and also how much their loved ones adored them both.

Before the reception kicked off, we had more time to document Alysia and Charlotte in the outdoorsy venue. Our drone shoots in this wedding video are magic. Seeing the vast mountainous landscape from the air adds a spectacular layer to the wedding video. The aerial footage of the flowing river and ceremony set-up is pretty special too.

Then they get lucky enough to have a friend who is a DJ. Jake Johnson rocked the party, which was also outside. They danced the night away, enjoyed great food and wine and celebrated Alysia and Charlotte’s love story.
