Dancing in the rain, sharing sweet words and crying tears of joy. This is love.
When Therese and Mike got married at their property in beautiful Green Bluff in Washington, love was all around. This passionate couple is so in love and you can see it in everything they say and do. This so obviously extends to their friends and family who gathered to celebrate their love story and as you see from the video highlights, it was a wedding to remember.
All day long, this couple couldn’t stop crying and were so emotional and open-hearted. We could really feel the love they have for each other just by being in their presence.
As a husband and wife videography team, we love seeing this kind of connection and bond, which reminds us of our wedding day. Come to think of it, shooting weddings together is, in an abstract way, kind of like reliving our wedding day again. Just one of the many reasons we adore documenting a couple’s best day ever!
The bride wore an elegant strapless wedding gown adorned with appliqué lace leaves and a long veil. Her hair was braided and half down in soft waves and natural make-up completed her effortlessly-gorgeous look. Her bouquet was a rustic pink floral creation with many different flowers. Her bridal look was perfect for the countryside outdoors wedding. Once the final touches were added, it was time for the intimate first look. Therese’s sister was just as excited as Mike and was watching from the sideline.
Mike was obviously wowed when he saw Therese for the first time. That was the first of many teary moments. The forest was such a romantic place for the first look and then we had time to capture footage before the ceremony. A drone was essential for this outdoorsy celebration and the couple standing on a rock with the ceremony set up in the background is awe-inspiring. We also captured drone footage of the whole area early in the day and the ceremony set-up before the guests arrived. They worked so hard and poured their efforts to be able to bring their vision to marry in their own property to life, surrounded by nature and wilderness.
Our groom Mike was dressed to the nines in a smart black suit with a bow tie and his side of the bridal party looked wonderful too. With six of his closest people by his side, Mike had fun getting ready for the ceremony. We headed outdoors to a grassy area for some footage of the boys who were all hyped for the fun times to come. Having all this wide-open space to shoot was awesome and we had plenty of time. Nothing was rushed and everyone was relaxed.
Event Planner Pearl and Tin designed a ceremony space that was gorgeously organic and natural. A wooden archway was decorated with carnations, lisianthus and greenery. Guests sat on white wooden chairs set up in the perfect intimate forest clearing. There were lots of children at the wedding, including the most adorable flower girls who threw petals from their baskets as they walked down the aisle. Even the couple’s pet dog was there and almost stole the show. Finally, the bride entered through the rustic wooden doors set up at the top of the aisle. She was accompanied to the altar by her mother, who looked emotional and happy.
The couple’s vows were deeply intense and sentimental. Of course, there were a few pauses between tears and the guests were feeling the same. Mike added some humor to his vows, causing everyone to laugh. Then Therese’s playful nature came out when she said, “oh yeah!” instead of “I do.” The celebrant announced them man and wife and they sealed the deal with a passionate kiss and the guests all cheered. Down the aisle they went as the happiest couple in the world.
Soon the champagne was flowing and the celebrations got louder. Later it started to rain, but everyone stayed on the dance floor and the band, The Rub, didn’t seem to care either. It was one of those moments wild souls live for and it’s one of my favorite parts of the day.
During the speeches, there were more tears, of course. Therese’s sister gave a moving speech about their family bond and love. We love shooting speeches because we know they are going to be looked back on many times in years to come. It’s also often one of the only times the couple doesn’t know what is coming. So their reactions are always priceless.
It was a pleasure to work alongside photographer Cassie Trottier and her hubby who are such talented and fun people to work with. All the vendors involved in the day were outstanding and the day unfolded wonderfully. It couldn’t have gone more perfectly, and even the rain added a special element of romance and surprise.
In case you are wondering, the song we selected for their wedding videography highlights reel is Wonderful, Wonderful by Emorie Licensed through Soundstripe. This soulful melody is uplifting and moving with lyrics that fit the day as if it was written just for them.
